Electric or gas. I test the whole machine before I sell you a part, so you pay for the fault that's actually there. $99 to come out and find the fault. Then one flat price for that repair, approved by you before anything gets touched.

What usually goes wrong
Each of these has more than one possible cause — a different part at a different price. Finding out which one is what the $99 diagnostic is for.
Gas and electric dryers lose their heat in different ways, and guessing gets expensive — the wrong part and it's cold again in a week. Tell me which kind you have when you book.
It's also the pattern that shows up before a dryer fire, so don't ignore it — and don't leave it running while no one's home.
The dryer is cutting out to protect itself. Take it seriously: repeated overheating is how dryer fires start.
A new noise means something is wearing out. Cheaper caught early — left alone, one worn part takes others down with it.
If it hums but won't turn, switch it off right away — a stalled dryer overheats fast.
Easy to live with, but it costs you an extra cycle every load, and it tends to get worse, not better.
Pricing
One number, everything in it — parts, labor, the trip and the sales tax are inside the price you approve. There is no second invoice for parts. 1 year on parts, 120 days on labor. If I open it up and find a second fault, you get a separate price for that one and you decide — I don’t add it to the bill on my own.
