Refrigerator repair in Greenville, NC

A fridge that isn't cold is the one call I try hardest to reach the same day — there's food on the line. Sealed system work needs EPA 608 certification, which I hold, so I can take the job all the way through instead of handing it off. $99 to come out and find the fault. Then one flat price for that repair, approved by you before anything gets touched.

What usually goes wrong

Refrigerator repair — the faults I see most

Each of these has more than one possible cause — a different part at a different price. Finding out which one is what the $99 diagnostic is for.

Running constantly but nothing is cold

This is the fork in the road: the same symptom can be a small repair or the biggest one a fridge has, at very different prices. Telling them apart is exactly what the diagnostic buys you. Keep the doors shut in the meantime.

Freezer is cold, fridge section is warm

Usually a smaller repair than it looks. Move what matters into the freezer or a cooler until I get there.

Water under the crisper drawers or on the floor

Worth catching early — a slow leak does its damage out of sight. Towel it up and tell me where the water shows up first.

Ice sheeting up the back wall of the freezer

It gets worse week by week until the cooling stops. Don't chip at the ice with anything sharp — that's how a fixable fridge becomes a new one.

Loud humming, buzzing or rattling

A new noise usually means something's on its way out — cheaper to fix before it quits and the food warms up. Text me a short video with the sound.

Ice maker stopped making ice

If the fridge itself has warmed up too, say so first — that's the bigger problem. Otherwise, send the model number with your request.

Sealed system work

If the fault is a refrigerant leak, that's a bigger job and priced separately: $600–900 to find the leak, braze it, fit a new filter-drier, pressure test with nitrogen, vacuum and recharge to the factory weight. $900–1,300 if the compressor itself has to be replaced — three to eight hours of work. On a fridge that's over twelve years old I'll usually tell you to put the money toward a new one.

Pricing

What it costs

Diagnostic — the trip, the fault found, in writing$99
Folded into the repair if you go ahead$0
Most refrigerator repairs — parts, labor, trip and tax$280–520
Control board, when that’s the fault$380–650
Built-in and luxury brands — Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Miele — diagnostic$119

One number, everything in it — parts, labor, the trip and the sales tax are inside the price you approve. There is no second invoice for parts. 1 year on parts, 120 days on labor. If I open it up and find a second fault, you get a separate price for that one and you decide — I don’t add it to the bill on my own.
